NYX blues

Today's look features mainly NYX products. I just got a bunch of the "NYX Triple Shadows for sexy babe's eyes only!" Palettes. I've been trying out a ton of different looks with these palettes and so far i'm pretty satisfied with the quality of them. But that's for a different post.

Onto the look!

Revlon Colorstay Foundation in 180 Sand Beige.

For brow highlight and inner corner i used the white out of the NYX triple eyeshadow palette in white/Gray/black.
For liner i used Loreal HIP Cream eyeliner in Black and Loreal HIP eyeliner in black on waterline.
For Eyebrows i used NYX jumbo pencil in Dark brown.

These are a few of my favorite things!

I love all my makeup, but I've gotta say there are a few things i couldn't live without!!! Here is a list and pictures of a few of my favorite items that i must have at all times!
(In no particular order!)

-Make Up Forever HD foundation #115 Ivory
i absolutely LOVE the coverage of this foundation! its amazing, while its a bit pricey i honestly think its worth it :) I had doubts at first because it left my skin feeling greasy and oily but i changed how much i was putting on and now i love it! So just know that a little goes a long way!
(Price: $40 at any sephora or at makeupforever.com)

-Sonia Kashuk Highlighting brush
I dont think i would love the MUFE foundation if i didnt have this awesome brush to apply it with! It looks and feels almost identical to the MAC 187 but at a MUCH cheaper price!
(Price: $15.00 at Target or Soniakashuk.com)
-MAC 217,222,& 239
I dont know how i ever lived without these brushes! Having handy dandy tools really does make a difference in the way your makeup looks! While they are a bit pricey, they are definitely worth the investment. I love these brushes!
(Price: 217-$22.50, 222-$28.00, 239-$24.50 at maccosmetics.com)

-NYX Jumbo pencils
These are the perfect base for any look your trying to achieve! They create a smooth sticky base to make your eyeshadows POP! and for the price it cant be beat!
(Price: $2.99-$4.99 You can buy these at nyxcosmetics.com , CVS , Ulta , or Bartells (depending on where you live).

-NYX Blushes
These blushes are packed full of color and they come in a variety of different shades for every skin tone! And since it is NYX you know the price is going to be awesome!
(price:$6.00-$10.00)

-Jesse's Girl Eye dusts
These mineral eyeshadows are amazing! They are super pigmented, come in a wide variety of colors whether you like bold or basic, and they are pretty much dirt cheap!
(Price:$3.99-$4.99 Depending on where you live you can find these at any Rite-aid or you can buy them online at Jessesgirlcosmetics.com)

-MAC Viva Glam Gaga Lipstick
This is my favorite lipstick of ALL time! You can wear it over a nude lip or build up the color for a more opaque pink lip! Plus all the proceeds go to the MAC aids fund! Cant get much better then This awesome Lady Gaga inspired lipstick!

-NYX Mega shine lip gloss
This lip gloss is SUPER pigmented so a little bit goes a long way. It smells like starbursts which is a plus in my book! And the price is great :D
(Price:$3.00-$6.00)

Well, for now i think that about covers it! i hope you enjoy and keep comin back to see whats next on my top faves!

Silver Smoke

So this is a look that ive been obsessed with wearing every single day!

The crazy part about this is that the lid color in the pot looks baby blue with a silver duochrome but when you pair it with MAC Carbon it looks straight up silver! I'll list what i used and a pic of the magic pigment!

Exciting news and an every Day Neutral/School Look

The last 2 days have been pretty amazing, i found out my grandparents are taking me and my 15 yr old cousin to las vegas for my 21st birthday (which ive been planning since i was like 12.) the last couple of years have been really hard and i knew i would never be able to go to vegas for my 21st birthday and they knew it was what id been dreaming about for forever so i guess they decided they would take me :D. Then today i had my appointment to sign all the paperwork and get enrolled in dental assistant courses thru PIMA medical institute! AND i start school on monday! ive been trying to get into school for years now but could never really decide what i wanted to do...enrolling in pima just felt natural and it all happened so fast and smoothly that i figured i better not second guess myself this is probably what im meant to be doing. so im extremely happy and feel like maybe this is the start of 2010 for me and things are going to get better.

Yesterday and today was the first time i decided to try and do neutral makeup so i could have some easy ways of doing my makeup for school. Ive been so used to doing big bright bold looks that i almost forgot how pretty neutral is plus i love how easy and fast it is to slap on some foundation, mascara, and eyeliner.

What i did for this look is used my revlon colorstay foundation in sand beige with 1 drop of the MAC care blends essential oils in Sweet Orange&Lavender. i love the effect that the oil makes when mixed with any liquid foundation or concealer and blended in well with a stippling brush.

This is what the MAC Care blends essential oils looks like:
Photobucket

The oil came out with the warm & cozy collection for a limited time.

Then i took a pinky plummy blush from ulta im not sure of the name unfortunately. contoured my cheeks and bronzed a bit.

For the eyes all i did was prime with UDPP and sweep a skin tone shadow all over lid to brow and with a brownish reddish eyeshadow from Sallys i defined the crease just a bit. I used my colossal lash mascara 2-3 coats to create big thick lashes. Lined the bottom and top waterline with loreal HIP eyeliner and filled in my eyebrows.

Super easy to do and only takes a good 5-10 mins.

This can work for anyone for school, work,or just every day. hope it was helpful!

Makeup Brushes

The main thing you need to create an effortless and flawless look is brushes. This is just a list of some of the most known brush brands and where you can find them but there is sooo many more companies that make brushes of different qualities, prices, and selection.

The top brushes that everyone recommends are MAC brushes. The quality of MAC brushes along with their cosmetics is perfection but with a price of between $17.50-$52.00 there are so many other companies that make products just as good at a price that wont empty your bank account.
Photobucket
You can buy MAC brushes and other MAC products at http://www.maccosmetics.com/

while MAC brushes are great there is also plenty of duplicate brushes with just as good quality but at a much better price.

For starters there are Sigma Brushes

Photobucket

Sigma brushes are exact dupes of MAC. The creator of these brushes wanted to create brushes that were of exact or maybe even better quality of MAC but at a price that virtually anyone can afford. And among some beauty gurus they have admitted that sigma brushes may even be better quality then MAC. These amazing brushes even have the same numbers as MAC but with an SS before the number for example:

the SS239 by sigma would be the equivalent of a MAC 239 and so on and so forth.
You can buy Sigma Brushes and other sigma products at http://www.sigmamakeup.com/

Another great brand of brushes are sephora brand brushes

Photobucket

These brushes are very soft and easy to use. while they are a bit pricey they have a huge selection of all different types, shapes, and sizes. You can find pretty much any brush your looking for if you step into a sephora and they always have some sort of brush set you can find for a pretty good deal.

You can buy Sephora brand brushes (along with many other brands of brushes) at http://www.sephora.com/

Next we have Sonia Kashuk brushes which you can buy at any Target. i have to say these are one of my favorite lower end brushes. they are so soft and theres a wide variety to choose from plus during holidays you can buy awesome little sets that come with some cute travel bags. The quality of these brushes is fantastic for such a small price i definitely reccomend them to anyone that is just starting out and needs to build their collection.

Photobucket

You can find Sonia Kashuk brushes and products at http://www.target.com/

Another great set of brushes are by NYX.

Photobucket

the set above costs about $90.00

You can find NYX brushes and products at http://www.nyxcosmetics.com/ You can also find NYX products at http://www.cherryculture.com/ or check your local CCO.

I hope this was helpful to anyone thats just starting their collection and want to find good quality brushes and just didnt know where to start. :) Theres alot more brushes out there but for now these are just a few of my favorites. if you have any questions, feel free to ask ;) i dont bite.
